The largest of the four residential historic districts, the Mitchell Historic District is located just west of the business district of Statesville and surrounds the campus of Mitchell Community College. Contains approximately 200 structures in a 20 block radius. District contains two of Statesville's oldest remaining homes - The George Anderson House (313 S. Mulberry St.) and the Hall House.
